Jante Law and envy has nothing to do with each other

Hej Bloggie

1_1

Hello Bloggie

I just came across an article in danish magazine “Se & Hør”, which is about Sarah Louise who believes she is a victim of the Jante Law . Sarah has written a post on her blog – thinks it’s annoying to be photographed when she is on tour with her son. Some readers think that Sarah must put up with it because she is celbrety, others do not think she is so well known, which is causing Sarah to invoke the Law of Jante .

I want to emphasize that I understand that it’s not cool to be chased by Paparazzias , but on the other hand she has her selfes selected to live the celebrity life. And one can only be a celbrity if one get some publicity in the magazines, so they is of course inextricably linked with Paparazzias.

It ‘s more because I think that the Jante Law is being used as a way to put the trump on ones arguments. I think Jante Law is being used incorrectly and Sarah are not the only one who uses it incorrectly . She was just the one that caused me to write this post.

Jante Law is derived from the shaft Sandemose in the novel ” A Fugitive Crosses His Tracks ” from 1933. The novel describes the protagonist, Espen Arnakkes , growing up in the town of Jante (including statutory name) in the early 20th century . The real and serious accusation in the book is that there is a universal Jante that we all are guilty of contributing to . Jante Law is not bound to Nykøbing to Denmark or to the beginning of the 20th century, but the way we as humans treat each other .

Let me make it clear that the Ten Commandments (of which the most common is the first : ” Do not think that you are something. Must be in the original meaning behind the Jante Law , Sandemose depicted the situation in a particular social stratum – namely the working class. the ten Jantebud expresses the fear and resentment that collective within this class have toward the subject to stand out from the mass and will free itself from the collective pressure and alignment .

Jante Law is not socially conditioned pecking order. Jante Law is also not envy that someone from a socially higher layers can afford more or a higher social status than oneself . In contrast, suppression within a circle with the same social position.

Jante Law suppresses collective which in turn suppresses a person from its own ranks , a person who is trying to break out or assert its identity. When collective suppresses a person suppresses the collective also themselves effectively.

Law of Jante 10 Commandments :

Do not think you’re something.
Do not think that you are just as much as us.
Do not think that you are smarter than us.
Do not delude yourself into thinking that you’re better than us.
Do not think that you know more than us.
Do not think that you are more than us.
Do not think that you are good at anything .
Do not laugh at us.
Do not think that anyone cares about you .
Do not think that you can teach us anything.
The book is added to the Ten Commandments an eleventh in Jante Penal Code. It is formulated as a question and says:

11 You might not think that I know something about you ?

The orders which the collective is so keen to enforce against others involved in the fact that collective self lingers in suppedasen and can never free itself . The power over the individual results in Jante – in a loop of the working class collective within a framework of constricting standards . The community keeps itself in check – and this is a key difference from how Jantelov used mistakenly – to keep another person (not necessarily from the same social strata ) in check , Jante Law is used as a sort of explanation of envy.

Jante Law can not be used as synonymous with that some people are envious . The incorrect use of the Jante Law has irritereret me a while, so I had to just clarify how I perceive the Jante Law .

Today’s outfit is knit from Saint Tropez, turtle neck from Vila , skirt from Even & Odd , Stilettos from Miss Martins, By Biehl necklace , earrings Pieces by Julie Sandlau , bracelets City Biehl , mixed gold . Rings from Mawli Copenhagen and Pieces by Julie Sandlau .

I wish you a wonderful day and I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.
