The reuse of children

Hej Style Hunter

The reuse of children

The reuse of children

The reuse of children

The reuse of children

The reuse of children

The reuse of children

The reuse of children

Hello Style Hunter

The reuse of children – I have just watched the TV documentary “Children left over” and I are both extremely sad and at the same time plug thumping angry.

The documentary highlights the US adoption system where it is legal to dispose of an adopted child as if it were a pet you found tiring.

It’s not because I thought it is better to acquire a pet and after a short time to agree with oneself that one do esnot bother the work to fit the animal.

But I think it’s even worse when the same approach are being applied to children who are already at the first adoption has experienced a major failure of caring that will mark them for life.

In the documentary, we meet several fates, including Frank who was given up for adoption along with his sister when he was 6 years.

Four years later his adoptive parents not want to have neither Frank nor his sister and give them to re-adoption. Here, Frank is separated from his sister.

Frank has now lived for 4 years in a center that holds “fashion show” where prospective parents can come and see the children. It sounds so absurd in my ear and so wrong that I do not have words for it.

Frank is 14 years old and tells how difficult it has been for him to be rejected repeatedly. My heart is bleeding, is there not anyone who can understand that it is small people who are injured for life.

Frank meets Tom who takes Frank home, and after six months he send Frank back with the message that he does not fit. Frank is left with a feeling of being wrong, although it is not Frank who is wrong, but the adults who are completely and utterly wrong.

In the United States it is legal to undo an adoption and put the child to re-adoption. But precisely because re-adoption is time consuming and costly if the right parents must be found and approved it is cheaper than a normal adoption.

Although the re-adoption – adoption of a second child as they call it (I do not have words for what I thought of calling the children for a used child) only cost half of an ordinary adoption, there has been a black market where children are exchanged on the internet without any supervision.

We also meet Nita originally adoption from Tahiti, who were seven months later given up to a re-adoption and is adopted, after 5 re-adoption  she is adopted by a married couple who already has 8 children. The couple mistreat the children and the man committing sex crimes against 4 of the 8 children.

Nita tell her adopted mother who asks her to keep silent, otherwise she will be sent away. When Nita is 18, she tells the police. And the couple are imprisoned  the man gets life in prison.

In the documentary, we visit a center where families can send their adopted children to, in order to get them fixed. The children tell themselves that they need to change in order to be allowed to come home. Some children never come home, but must stay there until they are adults.

These terrible failure and hardship affect 25,000 children in the United States annually. 25000 children who learn that they are unwanted and wrong.

In a world where the use and throw away has become as normal as throwing the used dishcloth out, we are now beginning to use children as a commodity we buy and throw out when we get tired of the children.

I am as you may know adopted myself, I was lucky and got some amazing parents. But even if I was lucky, I also have scars on my soul, I can’t help thinking about how bad scars such treatment will give those children.

My heart bleeds and I wish I could do something to help and stop this madness.

I’ve said it before and will say it again, it is not a human right to get children. Children are a hard work, perseverance and unconditional love.

It was todays sad post. I wish you a good evening while I look forward to seeing you again.
